About Jacob
The Full Story
Howdy! My name is Jacob Hall. My hometown is Fresno, California, but my heart lies in Texas. I live here with my partner and our two cats, Pudding and Penny. In my free time, I enjoy fishing, hiking, and gardening. Growing up with a dad who liked the outdoors, my older and younger brother would be with me while my dad took us fishing or camping. I’m currently an accounting major at The University of Texas at Dallas. My career aspirations include tax accounting. In the future, I would like to prepare individual or corporate tax returns, advise clients in tax advice and planning, and represent clients in IRS audits.

As a teenager, I enjoyed running, weightlifting, and watching football. I ran Varsity track for most of my years in high school, earning the title of captain in my junior and senior years for my leadership abilities. I still continue to pursue all of these hobbies in my later years, although I've taken some time off from watching football, which unfortunately disappoints my brothers. Developing in a Clovis Unified School District, I would always strive for greater education. I graduated high school while attending community college and was in the first row of the California Scholarship Federation, of which I am still a lifelong member and dedicated most of the highschool participating in CSF.
When COVID-19 hit California, I worked hard and built face shields full-time for months in an assembly line. As my situation continued to transpire negatively, I packed up and left home at 19 years old to co-found an auctioning business. That decision forced me to financially support myself in all aspects, including doing individual and business taxes. Auction House Houston started on a sheep farm near Clovis, California, and moved into a 3,000 sq ft warehouse in Houston within 2 months. I specialized in organizing and maintaining product pallets that I structured into lots, organizing pickups at Macy's distributors, and running ads through Facebook and Hibid (an auctioning website). I alone continued to run a smaller auction for a year later with the decline of Auction House Houston. Having tasted the business and Auction World, I now know I want to build something similar of sorts in the future.

Away from the auction, I also worked at JOS A Bank. I started as a retail consultant and, within 3 months, became a lead and key holder in the Rice Village location. While sadly having to move, I also moved jobs and started working at a private practice in the Denton and Plano areas. Working for a private practice, I learned a lot of medical terminology, medical billing, and insurance. I stopped working full-time in pursuit of finishing my education, which led me to where I am now.
